WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T Assesses Impact Of NXT Moving To The CW

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T Evaluates the Impact of NXT Moving to The CW

With the debut of “WWE NXT” on the CW network set for October 1, surprise appearances are on the rise, including The Bloodline from “SmackDown” and recent appearances by TNA stars Jordynne Grace, Hammerstone, and Rosemary. The debut show is shaping up with a high-profile card, including CM Punk appearing in his hometown of Chicago for the CW launch.

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer and current “NXT” color commentator Booker T discussed the situation on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, noting that the stakes are higher and there is increased pressure on the superstars.

Booker T highlighted that every show will be scrutinized more closely with the added visibility. “There’s going to be a lot more criticism if you’re not performing at a high level, especially with social media and all that now,” he said. “You’ll be exposed to a larger audience, and it will be a sink or swim situation.” Reflecting on this, Booker noted, “As the old saying goes, cream rises to the top.”

Though his in-ring career is mostly behind him, Booker expressed both excitement and envy for the current WWE developmental scene, feeling itโ€™s an environment where he could have thrived. “This is huge,” Booker said. “Iโ€™m jealous in many ways. I can imagine how beneficial it would have been to have an NXT system as a springboard when I first started in the business. It would have been fantastic.”
