Former tag team champions will square off on the August 17 episode of AEW Collision, as FTR will face The Acclaimed.

During the August 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed challenged The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. The match saw intense action, including a pivotal moment when the referee was knocked out. Matthew Jackson delivered a low blow to Max Caster, and The Young Bucks attempted to use the tag team titles. However, FTR intervened, leading to a confrontation between Dax Harwood and Matthew Jackson, which resulted in a disqualification.

Backstage, AEW Interim EVP Christopher Daniels confirmed that FTR will face The Acclaimed on the August 17 episode of AEW Collision. The winner of this bout will earn the opportunity to challenge The Young Bucks for the titles at AEW All In.

FTR previously competed against The Young Bucks at AEW All In, securing the gold. The Young Bucks later reclaimed the titles by defeating FTR in a Ladder Match for the vacant championships at AEW Dynasty.
