Bully Ray Reacts to AEW Dynamite Main Event
With AEW All In approaching on August 25, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland gained momentum during Wednesday’s “AEW Dynamite” by defeating Bryan Danielson’s Blackpool Combat Club stablemate, Wheeler Yuta, in the main event.
WWE and TNA Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the match during “Busted Open After Dark.”
“Coming out of the main event, I thought it was a good match,” Ray commented. “It was a strong main event and one of the highlights of the night for AEW. Featuring Swerve Strickland in the main event is where the World Heavyweight Champion belongs.”
Looking ahead to the title vs. career match for the AEW World Championship, Bully Ray praised AEW for selling approximately 45,000 seats for the upcoming pay-per-view.
“Anytime you can sell that many tickets, it’s a thumbs up. It won’t be like the first All In, so don’t go overboard. It’s a solid number, and itโs going to be a solid show for AEW,” said the WWE legend.
Ray also credited AEW for the video package aired before the main event, highlighting Bryan Danielson’s career in the independent scene, Ring of Honor, and AEW. He praised Tony Khan for using “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” by Green Day in the package.
“Obviously, there’s no WWE footage in the package, but it didn’t need it,” Ray added.
