Bronson Reed Reflects on His NXT Babyface Run and WWE Main Roster Heel Journey

Since his call-up to “WWE Raw” in 2022, Bronson Reed has made a significant impact as one of the most physically imposing stars on the main roster. Over the past few months, the former North American Champion has emerged as a compelling heel, delivering unpredictable attacks and engaging in brawls with formidable opponents like Braun Strowman and Sheamus. His aggressive style and devastating Tsunami finisher have made him a must-see attraction. However, Reed’s journey to this success began with a babyface persona during his time in “WWE NXT.” In a recent interview with “Insight,” he discussed his preference for playing a heel and his comfort in that role.

“I think Hunter always saw it,” Reed stated, referring to Triple H. “Obviously, the other higher-ups didn’t see it for whatever reason. I was a babyface at the time. I’ve always said I work better as a heel, and I tried to push for that in NXT, but it didnโ€™t happen. They wanted to keep me as a babyface, which is fine. Now that I’m back, Iโ€™ve been able to embrace the heel role, but I was sort of on the back burner for the first year or so. They know they can get a good match out of me, but it’s those extra things that I think have elevated me in the last three months, like attacking people and creating viral moments.”

One of the key moments in Reed’s recent heel turn was when he attacked Seth Rollins, who made his return to “Raw” last week, costing Reed his Last Monster Standing match against Strowman.
