AEW’s Jeff Jarrett Opens Up About Owen Hart Cup Loss To ‘Hangman’ Adam Page
In a surprising turn of events at the “Beach Break” edition of “AEW Dynamite” on July 3, 2024, AEW fans found themselves cheering for Jeff Jarrett in his match against former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page. The bout, part of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, held special meaning for Jarrett due to his personal connection with Hart. Despite his efforts, Jarrett couldn’t overcome Page’s prowess, with Page ultimately claiming victory.
On his “My World” podcast, Jarrett reflected on the experience of having an arena full of fans rallying behind him at this stage of his career. He shared, “I gave it my all, and sometimes, life doesn’t always turn out the way we expect it to. But what are we to do except look at life as no obstacles, just opportunities?” Jarrett noted that his wife Karen didn’t speak to him before the match, respecting his focus. Despite the loss, the match remains a memorable highlight for him.
Jarrett also mentioned a conversation with Jerry Lawler post-match, where Lawler praised Jarrett’s performance. Feedback from fans has been overwhelmingly positive, but Jarrett especially cherished the moment when he applied the sharpshooter. “The Chicago folks in the house, it was cool. They were, to me, emotionally invested. When I locked the sharpshooter on, man, they came up, and in my brain, so did I,” he recalled.
