Fresh off her departure from WWE, Camron Branae, formerly known as NXT’s Amari Miller, stepped into a thrilling international wrestling encounter at STARDOM’s 2024 American Dream event. Teaming up with AZM and Saya Kamitani, Branae faced off against STARDOM’s formidable trio of Momo Watanabe, Starlight Kid, and AZM, along with NJPW’s Stephanie Vaquer. Despite their best efforts, Branae and her team fell short as Watanabe, Vaquer, and Starlight Kid emerged victorious. Nevertheless, the experience marked a memorable chapter in Branae’s career, showcasing her resilience and adaptability on a global stage.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Camron Branae shared insights into her journey leading up to her international wrestling debut at STARDOM’s 2024 American Dream event. She revealed that Sumie Sakai and former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY played pivotal roles in opening doors for her.

Branae recounted her encounters with Sumie Sakai during training sessions in WWE, where Sakai recognized her talent and supported her. Reflecting on her matches with IYO SKY, Branae expressed gratitude for the opportunities and mentorship she received, particularly noting the impact of wrestling alongside IYO in the Dusty Cup.

“It’s funny because I didn’t know IYO played a part until after the match,” Branae explained during the interview. “I had wrestled IYO I want to say twice, one non-televised and then the Dusty Cup. I don’t know if it was something about me to IYO that I was just very respectful. IYO and Kay Lee altogether have the wrestling career of my whole entire life, period.”

Branae’s journey underscores the importance of mentorship and the supportive wrestling community in shaping her career trajectory, culminating in her memorable experience at STARDOM.

Two years after her matches with IYO SKY in WWE, Camron Branae received an unexpected text from Sumie Sakai offering her a chance to perform at STARDOM’s American Dream event. Branae eagerly accepted the opportunity, driven by her passion for wrestling, regardless of financial compensation.

Later, Branae discovered that IYO SKY had recommended her for the match spot. Reflecting on this revelation during her interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Branae expressed her gratitude towards SKY for endorsing her talents.

“They were like, ‘IYO said you were really good. IYO was the one that told me about you.’ And I was like, ‘IYO?’ Later on, she came up and she’s like, ‘You did so great, Amari!’ And I was like, ‘IYO, thank you for like putting your freaking neck out for me.’”

Branae’s experience highlights the supportive relationships and mentorship within the wrestling community, showcasing how trust and recommendation can open doors to new opportunities and experiences in the industry.
