Preview: The August 9, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown is set to feature the return of Roman Reigns as the fallout from SummerSlam continues. AJ Styles is also scheduled to appear live.

At SummerSlam 2024, LA Knight claimed his first United States Championship by defeating Logan Paul. Knight will make his debut appearance as the US Champion on this week’s SmackDown. Roman Reigns made a dramatic return at SummerSlam, attacking Solo Sikoa. WWE has confirmed that Reigns will return to SmackDown this week, where he is expected to address his future plans. There’s speculation that Reigns may face a confrontation from Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline faction. Additionally, Nia Jax won the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam by defeating Bayley. Jax will showcase her new title on SmackDown this week, with a championship celebration planned alongside Stratton. Cody Rhodes, who successfully defended his title against Solo Sikoa, is also set to appear on this week’s show.

Roman Reigns, the “Original Tribal Chief,” played a decisive role as Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in his return at SummerSlam. Reigns is now scheduled to appear on the blue brand this week. Last week, SmackDown saw three title changes: Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga of The Bloodline became WWE Tag Team Champions, LA Knight became the United States Champion by defeating Logan Paul, and Nia Jax captured the Women’s Championship by defeating Bayley at SummerSlam.
