Eric Bischoff, another prominent figure from WCW history, also weighed in on Goldberg’s comment during an appearance on “Wise Choices,” offering his perspective on the comparison between Khan and Carter.
Eric Bischoff shared his insights regarding the comparison between Tony Khan and Dixie Carter. He noted similarities, mentioning that Carter had aspirations to emulate Vince McMahon, which he sees reflected in Tony Khan’s ambitions to achieve similar stature in the wrestling industry. Bischoff clarified that this aspiration is not inherently negative, as aspiring to such heights is commendable. However, he suggested that both Carter and Khan may have been overly focused on their aspirations rather than effectively managing their respective wrestling organizations.
Bischoff emphasized that while Khan has invested significantly in wrestling, he may not achieve the same level of impact or influence as McMahon, Heyman, or himself during their prime eras in wrestling promotion.
Eric Bischoff expressed skepticism that anyone, including Tony Khan, will be able to replicate the immense success achieved by Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman during the 1980s and 1990s. He also shared his belief that AEW (All Elite Wrestling) will not leave the same lasting impact as WCW Monday Nitro or ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) did as wrestling promotions.
