Beginning this week, WWE SmackDown on September 13, USA Network will officially become the home of all things WWE for the remainder of 2024. It hasn’t happened since 2019, but it’s back, though not for long. Starting with WWE SmackDown’s return to USA Network, the channel will be the exclusive home for both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown until the end of the year, making it the only way to watch your favorite WWE Superstars. Cody Rhodes, the undisputed WWE Champion, will be available exclusively on USA Network starting September 13. The same goes for Roman Reigns, The Bloodline, Rhea Ripley, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan, and many others. Cody Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship inside a Steel Cage on the season premiere episode on USA Network, as announced on the final SmackDown on FOX last night.

The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion kicked off last week’s SmackDown by reminding everyone of his victory over Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin. Solo Sikoa interrupted, demanding a rematch with Cody, following Roman Reigns’ interference at SummerSlam that helped Cody secure the win. As The Bloodline began to attack Rhodes, The Street Profits and DIY rushed in for the save. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then confirmed the Cody vs. Sikoa match for the next edition of SmackDown. Last week, WWE confirmed that Roman Reigns will make his return on SmackDown. Fans are speculating that if Solo Sikoa gets another shot at the championship, Roman might once again sabotage Solo’s chances at the gold. After defeating A-Town Down Under in a triple threat, Kevin Owens now needs to find a mystery partner for a tag team match on the September 13 edition, live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

This Friday’s main event will feature a Steel Cage Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship, marking the second encounter between “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline leader, the self-proclaimed ‘tribal chief’ Solo Sikoa. Sikoa issued the challenge a few weeks ago, and Rhodes quickly accepted. The two almost came to blows last week, but SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis intervened. Although Aldis paused the fight, he made it official that Sikoa vs. Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship will headline this week’s show, marking the debut of the Blue Brand on USA Network, inside a grueling steel cage. Cody, a fighting champion, has not shied away from playing mind games, even attempting to create a rift between Solo Sikoa and the ‘Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu. Solo saw through Cody’s strategy and shut it down. With the championship on the line, Solo Sikoa enters the cage with more than just the title on his mind.

The rivalry between Carmelo Hayes and Andrade will continue with another singles match. The two competitors hold a 2-2 record from their previous singles matches on SmackDown. According to recent updates, the winner of this rubber match will earn a shot at LA Knight’s United States Championship, though no official announcement has been made yet.
